2018 Mr. Mick Riesling
- Clare Valley
- Bottle size
- 750 mL
- Canberra International Riesling Challenge
This wine has lemon pith, lime and orange blossom aromas and flavours, made in the classic Australian style with just a touch of fruit sweetness to balance the fresh natural acidity. It is a pristine wine with generous length of fruit flavour, a true reflection of the stunning 2018 vintage.
- Winemaking Notes
This wine is made from Riesling grapes harvested at their peak flavour maturity from vineyards through the central Clare Valley. Some of the vines are over 30 years old. The juice was immediately chilled, separated from skins then clarified and fermented for 14 days. Careful blending and the use of Free-Run juice only ensures continuation of the true Mr Mick style- crisp, pure and fruit driven.
- Growing Conditions
Vintage 2018 in the Clare Valley saw lower than average rainfall throughout winter and spring, which led to limited subsoil moisture for the beginning of the growing season. Access to water and good irrigation management was critical, allowing canopies to remain healthy and strong. The long warm, sunny conditions of the ripening days and the cool nights has resulted in consistent yields and excellent quality.
- Food Pairing
It is a great wine just to sit, sip and enjoy, or partner with any South Aussie seafood.

A complementary label under the Tim Adams stable, this is a lovely
little introduction to riesling for those might be a little reticent
about the variety’s often puckering style. There’s a note of white
florals, some talc-like perfumery, and all the expected squeezed
lemon and lime flavours. Although built in a modern dry manner,
there is a faint residual fruit sweetness that sculpts this into a more
friendly approach without sacrificing its refreshing acidity and
