MADE by Tim Adams and Brett Schultz from Clare Valley grapes of the classic Italian-origin sangiovese variety, this good-value rosé is pale copper in the glass, has fairy floss scents and brings ripe raspberry flavour to the front palate. Rhubarb, capers and apple peel characters chime in on the middle palate and the finish is sweet with a hint of minty acid. It is available on, in wine stores and at the 7 Dominic St, Clare, cellar door. The Mr Mick brand is a tribute to Mick Knappstein, Tim Adams’s early mentor and boss at the Stanley Wine Company’s Leasingham operation at Clare. Tim, who established his eponymous Clare Valley venture 30 years ago, bought the Leasingham Clare vineyard in 2009 and the Leasingham winery in 2011.
